I feel that the drag in the economy is hurting low income families more than anyone else. Home heating bills are expected to rise dramatically this winter and there is growing concern that the government program aimed at helping poor families cope with energy costs may not be able to meet the needs of cash-strapped households. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is a federally funded program that gives money to states to help low-income households, the elderly and the disabled cope with the financial strain of high heating bills. This year, however, the program could be squeezed by a projected 20% average increase in heating bills nationwide and an influx of people applying for assistance due to sour economic conditions, high gas prices and a weak labor market. I dread watching the news this winter and seeing stories about families freezing to death in the night because they simply could not afford to heat their homes. This is a nationwide crisis and will continue to be until we can find cheap renewable energy sources.
I believe that our gas prices are really poor right now. John McCain made gas prices a political issue and introduced legislation in the U.S Senate that would suspend the federal gas taxes for the summer. Obama, an ethanol man, said the country needed to do more to increase production and incorporate ethanol that used sugarcane not just corn. He also thinks that the internal combustible engine has seen its last days.

In my opinion, I think that fuel and oil prices are way too high. Both candidates have plans to lower fuel prices. John McCain plans keep getting fuel from overseas. Barack Obama wants to make more oil refineries in America. I dont know whose ideas are better, I guess time will tell.
The economy needs worked on by the new president. there is inflation and tax problems throughout the nation. gas prices are high that needs to be changed too. Our materials like wood, steel, and others are priced much higher too.
gas prices to me are doing too me very well in the owners pocket but in the average Americans not so much...

Health Care-The problems with health care are well known: it is too expensive and 47 million people living in the United States lack health insurance.John McCain believes we can and must provide access to health care for every American. He has proposed a comprehensive vision for achieving that. For too long, our nation's leaders have talked about reforming health care. Now is the time to act.
There are many problems in the economy. our wages are stagnant as the prices around us are rising. the cost of in-state college tuition has grown 35% in the last five years. Along with this, health care costs have risen four more times faster than wages over the past six years. and to top it off, the personal savings rate is now the lowest its ever been since the Great Depression. Barack Obama wants to fix the U.S. He says he will enact a windfall profits tax on excessive oil company profits to give American families an immediate $1,000 emergency eneergy rebate to help families pay ever rising bills. he will also provide $50 billion dollars to jumpstart the economy and prevent 1 million americans from losing their jobs. John McCain has his own way to help our economy. He believes that entrepreneours are at the heart of American innovation. he will keep the top tax rate at 35%. He wants a lower corperate tax rate and thinks it is essential to keeping good jobs in the US. although these two candidates are on the opposing sides, they have similar beliefs.
John MCcain wants to put the gas prices down to $3 a gallon.How he wants to do this is by drilling in the shores of the oceans and drill in Alaska.Barack Obama want to build cars with less gasoline.
Since 200 years are the U.S. on the top of the worlds economy. The state has much natural resources and also the agriculture is doing well, they make about 2 % of the gross national product of the state. Also at doing researches and development the U.S. does very well. But lately the economy was ailing in relation to the high gas-, and house prices and the bullish number of unemployed.
Barrack Obama wants a basically change of the economy and an equal allocation of taxes for discharge of the everyman. He just has to explain his aims better and work them out.
John McCain just want to change a few things like in the financial policy but in general he thinks he can bring the improvement for the U.S. through reservation of the nation.

Housing market. The housing market has been a slump for quite some time.Due to the bad mortage loans, the home owners were unable to make their housing payments. Due to this the houses went into foreclosure. Barack Obama is proposing a $10 billion foreclosure fund that would help homeowners modify their home loans to avoid foreclosure and bankruptcy. John McCain proposes a plan that would allow homeowners who qualify,and are behind on their home loans, to apply for goverment-backed loans.
the economy overall is getting low its self all around the gas prices are getting high and the electricity and ect. the candidates are both trying to tell us that they are gonna get it back in control but i believe that that wont happen.

High Crude Oil Prices
Crude oil prices are about at a five month low.Gas prices are down for the fourth day in a row.Gas is down 44 cents from the record high, but they are up 89 cents from last September.High crude prices are effecting the farmers, the shipping prices, the consumers, and major companies that rely on gas prices.The failing crude prices is a relief to the consumers, but they are still high.The average prices for regular unleaded gas fell to $3.678.Barack Obama wants to increase offshore drilling to increase oil supply and use some the emergency oil to supply to flood the market.John McCain wants to increase offshore drilling, which he says "will lower prices" by sending a message to oil traders.
The area of economy that I think is doing quite poorly is gas prices.
