WASHINGTON — Newly elected speaker John Boehner hailed the Republican Party's return to control of the House Wednesday, vowing a more open legislative process but acknowledging that "a great deal of scar tissue has built up on both sides of the aisle."

boehner beat pelosi in the elections by about 2 times as may votes. Boehner says he will open the legislative processes. he also said that the congress must try and overcome the debt of this country and reduce spending.
because the repbulicans and Mr. Boehner won the House, he took the speaker of the house position. he is taking this job with the highest national debt ever in america and a sruggling economy. he will now have to try to cut spending and reduce the dficit at the same time.
